The Summer Exhibition featuring Alexis Deacon and Jim's Lion

We are delighted to commence our annual Summer Exhibition on Wednesday 11th of June (5.30pm onwards) with a focus on the talented Alexis Deacon. Alexis’s work displays virtuosity in both content and technique with a rare ability to address both lighter and darker sides of human nature. This talent was recently acknowledged by his inclusion in the Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition Sky Arts Ignition: Memory Palace. We are pleased to host a book launch for Alexis's illustrations for the newly published version of Russell Hoban's classic tale Jim’s Lion. Original artwork will be available to purchase and Alexis will be in attendance on Wednesday 11th of June to sign copies of the book, (£9.99).

It is 25 years since Klaus Flugge at Andersen Press first published Elmer - The Patchwork Elephant, one of the best-loved and most iconic characters in picture books, created by the ever-versatile David McKee. Elmer is universally loved, with the books translated into over 40 languages and more than five million copies sold worldwide. It is with great pleasure that we join a year-long celebration of this significant 25th anniversary by presenting a comprehensive exhibition of original Elmer artwork.

Celebrating Niamh Sharkey Laureate na nÓg and Illustrators Ireland

Niamh Sharkey is one of the leading names for illustration in Ireland and beyond, and has been a driving force for contemporary illustration art in Dublin since her first book in 1995. Following a host of accolades and awards Niamh was elected as the first Irish Children's Laureate, Laureate Na NÓg in 2012 and has worked tirelessly over the past two years to promote books, reading and illustration. Our own association with Niamh stretches back over a decade, and we celebrate her years as the Laureate with this retrospective exhibition as her time in this role reaches is conclusion. A broad range of her work will be on show reflecting her enduring talent and skill seen in a variety of books and animation produced over recent years.
